Global Spiritual Care is the premium-services arm of the Hindu Spiritual Care Institute (HSCI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit training Hindu chaplains and spiritual care providers globally since 2018.
What we do
We connect people navigating specific life challenges, such as caregiver stress, marriage transitions, burnout and career meaning-making, with HSCI-verified coaches who can walk alongside them for a session or a series.
We also publish digital-first resources: peer-reviewed journals, practitioner guides, and reference materials grounded in Hindu spiritual care scholarship.
What these services are
- Rooted in HSCI. An extension of the Hindu Spiritual Care Institute, which has trained Hindu chaplains and spiritual care counselors since 2018.
- For the diaspora, at every age. A student choosing work, a couple before marriage, a parent caring for their own parents, an elder living alone.
- Culturally and ethically sensitive. Providers who know what a joint family, a wedding or a funeral asks of you, bound by a signed code of conduct.
- The Hindu tradition, when you want it. Brought into a session when you ask for it, and left out when you do not.
- Supervised and insured. Every provider works under HSCI’s supervision and is covered by its insurance.
How we're different
- Subject Matter Experts, invited by the HSCI Board. The Institute’s own instructors and officials, each bound by the Provider Agreement covering scope, referral duty, and crisis protocol.
- Coaching, not therapy. We are wellness coaches, not licensed psychotherapists or medical professionals. If you are in crisis, please call 988. For anything clinical, please seek a licensed provider.
- The free tier exists. For general community spiritual care, hospital visits, or last rites guidance, HSCI TrayaCare is our free, volunteer-delivered service. This platform is for people who want ongoing, specialized 1-to-1 work.
- Revenue funds the mission. HSCI takes 30% of session revenue as platform fee; providers keep 70%. The platform fee supports HSCI's chaplain training and community care programs.
