Namaste, I'm Amita and I'm pleased to offer this HSCI Wellness Session on Relationship Building.

This session is for individuals who want to build healthy, fulfilling, and committed relationships. Depending on your interests, we can also explore the Hindu values and traditions and how these can influence relationships.

This is not a therapy session and I'm not a therapist. I offer this Wellness Session that's grounded in research-based practices, my own experience, and years of guiding people through these types of relationship questions.

We will begin with a practical communication tool you can readily use, especially during stressful moments in the relationship.

We will then explore some of the common challenges Hindu and South Asian couples face through different stages of a relationship, issues that can build up until they no longer feel small.

From there, we're going to focus on your specific situation, whether you're dating, engaged, newly married, or have been together for years. Depending on your interest, we can explore your Hindu roots, values, spirituality, and what truly matters to you in a relationship, and how these may guide your everyday interactions and decisions moving forward.

We'll identify what's working. We'll challenge assumptions when needed. And we'll clarify what you can continue working on. We'll close with practical tools that you can carry forward into your relationship.

Now remember the real work does happen in your relationship, not in the session. So please note that I can't guarantee positive outcomes, but I can help you gain a clearer understanding of where you stand and identify the next steps for you to consider and act on.

To summarize, if you're wondering whether you're building your relationship in the right way, or avoiding an important conversation with your partner, this session is for you. Thank you.

For individuals who want to build healthy, fulfilling and committed relationships, whether you are dating, engaged, newly married, or have been together for years. Grounded in research-based practices and, if you wish, in Hindu values and traditions and how they influence a relationship.

This is not a therapy session and Dr. Shah is not a therapist. In her words, a session runs like this:

  1. A practical communication tool you can readily use, especially during stressful moments in the relationship.
  2. The common challenges Hindu and South Asian couples face through different stages of a relationship: issues that can build up until they no longer feel small.
  3. Your specific situation, whether you are dating, engaged, newly married, or have been together for years.
  4. If you wish, your Hindu roots, values, spirituality, and what truly matters to you in a relationship, and how these may guide your everyday interactions and decisions.
  5. What is working, assumptions challenged where needed, what you can continue working on, and practical tools to carry forward into your relationship.

The real work happens in your relationship, not in the session. She cannot guarantee positive outcomes; she can help you gain a clearer understanding of where you stand and identify the next steps for you to consider and act on. If you are wondering whether you are building your relationship in the right way, or avoiding an important conversation with your partner, this session is for you.
